I actually think it reflects poorly on you and makes you appear unprofessional if you skip work to interview. I would say to them, "I would love to interview with you, but my first responsibility is to my students- is there another time we can do this?" If they potentially value you as a employee (and this is something I'm sure you might want to know ahead of time) then they will work around you.
