When Bad Sleep Happens to Good People

Mind wanders

Heart pounds

Arms tingle

Eyes burn

Head aches

Legs are exhausted

Can't get comfortable

Want to cry

So tired

Shoulder goes numb

Start mentally lesson planning

Curse self

Shut up, brain!

Want to cry

....
Rinse, and repeat. For hours on end.

Caution: May result in haggard appearance, sluggish movement, and decreased mental acuity.

Sleep Aid. Seriously. Ambien has saved my life on multiple occasions, usually with just half a pill. There are over the counter ones too...it's that whole restless mind syndrome, sucks! I am not a 'pill popper' by any stretch of the imagination, I tend to plough through horrible headaches etc trying to find other solutions but I just don't mess around with my sleep.

Yes, yes, yes. I can sympathize on all counts. I can also guarantee that I will experience this the night before the first day of school. It's inevitable.

I've never tried the drugs, but I know a glass of wine (or brandy!) does the trick.

Oy vey- already?

(This from the person who slept from 11-2:15 last night and has been up since).

Tylenol PM Jules- it's the only way to go.
