Another field trip!

Yesterday I went down to lower Manhattan. I stopped by the Fulton Street Strand and bought six books for eighteen bucks. Then I continued on to the South Street Seaport to hang out and look at the Waterfalls. I took lots of pictures of the bridge, and the boats, and the people around me. I noticed a sign on one of the yellow boats--free water taxi ride to the new Brooklyn IKEA. I figured, hey, why not?

It was a gorgeous day--the weather was divine! The ride from Pier 11 to Red Hook (?) didn't take too long, and you can go up on top to enjoy the views. I even bought a couple little things at IKEA, like some cheap slippers and a magazine rack. I took tons of pictures from the boat (more later!) and was thoroughly pleased with my little trip.

Aren't picture-taking expeditions fun? I did the same thing today, but in the mountains of Northern California. Lovely! But beauty is everywhere for those who have eyes to see--as your photos prove!

Hi J! Thanks for stopping by. Somehow, I missed your site when I started to blog again. I'm glad to see you're still out there.

I used to love to visit the Fulton Street area. It's been a long, long time.

Mmh. I had no idea I could take a ferry to the new Ikea. That sounds more appealing than driving or taking the subway/bus all the way out to Red Hook. I think I see a boat ride in my future!!
